Here’s what I thought today, while walking up to our most beautiful ATL. The roses were in bloom, the hibiscus were framed so artfully by the iris’. The ornamental grasses were swaying ever so gently in the soft, summer breeze. The bumble bees were making themselves very busy amongst the azalea bushes. I even saw a humming bird hovering over the rhododendron. I held my breath. I thought if I breathed I would blow the tiny, fluttering bird away. It took a drink from one of the blossoms and (because my eyes were getting teary) , I blinked. It zoomed away. All of this made me, of course, so very grateful for our lovely garden group who takes such beautiful care of the landscaping around ATL. And to think they all do it on a volunteer basis, is simply astounding.
Might I suggest that the next time you see one of the marvelous manipulators of petal and leaves, that you tell them what a wonderful job they are doing!

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that the monthly meeting for August has been cancelled. We’re still very busy trying to get our new facilities ready for move it. So please stay tuned.
In the meantime…
When was the last time you cleaned out your book shelves. You know all those cherished books that you’ve kept since college but will never read again? Well, ATFOL would love to have them. Please drop them off at the AT Library as soon as you can.
Stay tuned for the latest on our new diggs!

Heard we got some new donations today! Some paperbacks, audio/visual and some older hard covers that are in excellent condition. Many thanks to all who saw this blog and decided to clean out their book shelves over the weekend!

Noticed that book donations have been a little slow as of lately. Is it just the hot summer, and everyone out of town? Is it the fourth of July holiday? Not sure, but we sure could use some more donations to make our Fall Sale a success for the library. If anyone has any hard cover/paperback books, children’s books or audio/visual materials that they are thinking of discarding, please consider donating them to the Anytown Library. Much appreciated!

Just because it is hot, humid and hazy, doesn’t mean we’ve stopped our activities getting ready for our big fall book sale! We are as busy as ever. Come join us if you have the time. We have a lively group of dedicated volunteers, whose knowledge of books and love of libraries is equal to their energetic enthusiasm. We could always use volunteers to help with our many fundraising activities. Please contact one of our organizers today to find out more about the group and how you can help!
